Rick after Isotope 322 in a post-apocalyptic world and in order to distract the cannibalistic community, Rick mentions the "Thunderdome" in the background.
Almost immediately he is corrected, "Uh, you mean the Blood Dome?" Since Rick loves to be corrected, he responds with "Save it for the semantics dome, E.B. White." White and note that the only thing that makes this joke better is the off-camera comment "oh, burn" and Rick's quick wink and finger gun. In less than 9 seconds Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland; 1) A reference to Mad Max that this episode is obviously spoofing.2) A geeky argument about language use, which renders3) A succinct/witty esoteric reference to a man most known for co-authoring an English Language Style Guide, many classics, and writing succinct/witty jokes, leading to an4) Off-camera acknowledgement of the joke that it seems so many Rick and Morty fans overlook! Un-fucking unbelievable.
